One of the more difficult, and usually impossible, clean up challenges for epoxy flooring is an old, totally oil saturated concrete floor. Below shows the old machine shop for Pindel in New Berlin, WI. Oil, mostly machine oil, has saturated the floor for 30+ years sinking deep within the concrete. While this can be cleaned off the surface, the oil within can rise up and delaminate any kind of floor surface.
When their President asked if we could clean this sufficiently for coating,
I said “This is a tough one. I don’t know. I will have to try a few things”
So I did. And now I can say; “Yes, we can deep clean this surface and have one of our coating systems adhere to the concrete.” Complicated.. well.. yes…. But we can do it.
